Dear All,

On 6 March, City Women Speakers held its international speech contest and evaluation contest!

We started with the international speech contest in which Marianna and Anqi competed. Anqi delivered an informative speech about the water system and explained how water companies operate, why our water is not free and the different elements that determine its price. Marianna showed us her favourite mirror. We went with her on a journey of what she used to see in her mirror, what she sees today and reminded us that we need to pursue our purpose.

After the break we heard a fabulous speech from our mystery speaker David and learnt how champagne is made and where the bubbles come from. The speech was then skilfully evaluated by our four contestants: Marianna, Siobhán, Anqi and Ailsa.

Well done to all our contestants and Congratulations to Marianna for winning the International Speech Contest and to Anqi for winning the Evaluation Contest.

Many thanks to all participants, contestants, mystery speaker, functionaries, judges and chief judge for making this a great evening!

Please join us on 20 March at the area contest to support Anqi and Marianna as they go on to compete against the winners of our neighbouring clubs!
