We are a member club of Toastmasters International, which has grown to become a world leader in helping people become more competent and comfortable in front of an audience. When does City Women Speakers meet?

City Women Speakers meet every other Wednesday (NOT on Bank Holidays). Please check for our next meeting on our Eventbrite page.

When do meetings start and finish?

Please arrive by 18:00 for a 18:15 start. Meetings generally finish around 20:15pm. You can find exact details of our next meeting on our Eventbrite page.

 Do I need to register before attending a meeting?

Yes, we alternate between ‘members only’ meetings and ‘guests & members’ meetings. For guests & members meetings, we have 8 spaces available for guests but these are often booked up weeks in advance. Please register as soon as possible to secure your place, or to have your name added to the waiting list. Registration is essential in order to be issued with a security pass for the building.

Do I need to prepare or bring anything?
There is absolutely nothing for you to prepare in advance of attending the meeting.
Who runs the meetings?
There is not a single person who always takes charge of our meetings. Each member is encouraged to practice and learn new skills by taking a meeting role such as timer, evaluator or grammarian, giving a prepared speech from the Toastmasters manual or taking part in the impromptu speaking section called Table Topics.
Is it expensive to join?

Toastmasters is a not-for-profit organisation, but there are some costs associated with printing materials, club fees, etc. If you compare our membership fees to various courses you can attend, City Women Speakers is a very affordable and incredibly effective way to learn public speaking and to develop confidence. 

Ok, but how much are the fees exactly?

The membership fees are approximately £10 per month, but to get an exact quote please contact us. 

How can I join?
The joining process is very simple at City Women Speakers. You only need to fill in a short membership form and pay both the joining and membership fees. You will need to be more than 18 years old to be eligible for membership of Toastmasters International.
What kind of personal information do you store?
You will have to provide your contact details: name, address, phone number, and email address. We have a WhatsApp group, but you do not have to join if you don’t want to. You can read our full website Privacy Policy here.
