22 Members attended, including our two newest members, Shruti and Sitara. 10 members brought food or drink (or both) plus the party organisers, Jo and Georgina, who lugged in bags and bags of supplies.
Wine and non-alcoholic beverages flowed, cheese unwrapped, lids prised from humus & other dips, crisp packets torn apart, home-baked treats revealed and off we went!
Once the meeting formally commenced, our Toastmaster for the evening, Jo guided us onto our Prepared Speech section with Aga delivering a timely talk on the failure rate of New Year’s Resolutions, Siobhán talked us through the ABC of Mentoring and then I gave a speech about making connections through Networking.
The speeches were evaluated by JT, Kiran and Anju. Amina kept a track of the minutes ticking by as the Timer and Georgina provided us with Laconic, the word of the day, in her role as Grammarian.
No Table Topics – instead we gathered around the food & drink and chatted, some of us staying on for 2-hours, taking advantage of the opportunity to get to know each other better.
This meeting summary is by far the most laconic I’ve ever posted as I’m sure you all have far more interesting things to crack on with than read my usual lengthy ‘summaries’
Merry Christmas everyone. See you in 2020
