Meeting summary:

Christmas came early this year!

This past Wednesday, Rowena was Mrs Claus, also known as our Toastmaster for the evening. Given our very early party this year she used faux-pas as her theme for the evening.

Helped by our timer elf Katie and grammarian elf Siobhan we had a lovely evening and shared some delicious food together.

Our flying reindeer speaker Sim delivered a speech on how to make sure you keep your new year’s resolutions. It’s all about keeping it simple and starting with small realisable goals. No need to change everything at once! Her speech was evaluator by elf Helen.

The fun continued with TableTopics led by Carrie and some charades organised by Jane. We heard about best Christmas memories, why we’re jealous of Santa Claus but also how to escape a dragon and heard about an elephant attack. The tabletopics were evaluated by Shola.

Best TableTopics were won jointly by Marieke and Jane and best faux-pas by Carrie and Sim. What happens at the Christmas party, stays at the Christmas party so I won’t reveal anything 😉

Date for the diary:

Deutsche bank speakers are hosing a workshop on high impact speaking next Monday 19th November. The workshop will be delivered by Simon Bucknall, the 2017 World Champion of public speaking runner-up. He came to our club to practice his speech before going to the World contest. You can register here

I hope to see many of you at our next meeting on Wednesday 28 November.

Best wishes,
